Delete Temporary Files And Folders Using Windows Logged XP
Do not delete temporary assemblies and folders that you recently created in new software or updates but have not yet restarted your computer. Some software may continue to use the Temp folder until you install the PC.
Delete Using Windows Explorer
On Windows XP systems, to delete files and folders using My Windows Explorer, follow these instructions:
- Click Start
- Click Run.
- Enter %temp% in the search box
- Click OK and optionally press Enter to open the temporary folder.
The Temp folder contains all current temporary files and folders for Windows XP systems.

- Select the temporary files approach, uncheck all other options, and then see OK.
- Click Yes to confirm that users want to delete files from the temporary folder.

- Right click on C:dr, where C: is the drive where Windows XP is installed.
- Select properties
- On the General tab, click Disk Cleanup.
